Form and content blend in the digital learning environment for editors!
Client MYBusinessMedia tailors its publishing courses to the rapidly changing demands in the profession.
As project leader, I developed a comprehensive digital learning environment for editors, together with a group of teachers and authors. We used the principle of ‘blended learning’, in which interactive self-study and meetings alternate. Novice editors are offered all parts of the profession in this way.
The digital learning environment is like a real workplace: students practise editing tasks, discuss in forums with fellow students and receive feedback from teachers. They carry out assignments for four fictional publishers created especially for this course. They have to deal with characters such as publisher André Zwartjes and project editor Dorinde Bleeker.
